How a pump station works

The waste enters the Pump Chamber via the inlet, raising the level and activating the Stop float first, at this stage this has no effect but will be useful a bit later.

Once the chamber has filled to a predetermined level the Start Float is activated, this signals the control panel to activate one of the pumps, this pump empties the chamber via the outlet bringing the level back down.

Once the level has fallen, the Stop float is disengaged, this signals the control panel to stop the pump and activates the Change over so that the next time the start float engages it will use the other pump, sharing the load and ensuring the pumps have adequate time to cool down between use.
